Stress from work, frustration eats away at us. How to prevent overwhelming stress?
Labour day, or International Worker’s Day, is a celebration to relish on the importance and encouraging good working conditions for workers. 1. Overcome Your Thoughts, Defeat the Stress
There is a Chinese proverb that goes “A journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step.” If we are able to solve the problem at its source, then finding the answer for the problems following the source will become much easier. One of the sources that waters the seed called stress is our own thoughts. Try to think differently with reason and from a different perspective. Or you can try getting advice from a friend or someone you know. With a large number of opinions and thoughts on the problem that you are facing, it will be easier for you to be able to process and evaluate which is the best solution since two heads are better one afterall.
2. Get Up ‘n’ Moving!
One in every five people is found to have symptoms of depression. But they can be lessened and prevented with exercise. No matter if it is to just walk, run, or participate in various sports activities. Because exercising helps your body in the excretion of Endorphins which helps us relax, become less stressful, and happier. Try finding time after work or during the holidays to pick up your favorite running shoes or whichever equipment for the sport of your liking, and let’s go exercise!
3. Food Prevents Stress
Did you know that eating helps relieve stress? Especially when you choose the right kind of food, e.g. fresh milk, powdered milk, or UHT milk, can help soothe the strain. They contain a large amount of useful nutritional properties such as Vitamin B which helps in maintaining a healthy nervous system and stimulating hormones associated with relaxation. Other foods that contain Vitamin Bs are brown rice and grains.
4. Take a Break, you Deserve It
Even machines need a break! So why can’t us humans take a break too? Of course, we can! And we should! If we continuously work for a long period of time, our bodies will become tired and restless, accumulating mental and physical stress. Try balancing time properly, find the time to relax, and items that will help you ease up quicker such as a pillow or a bed that are soft and comfortable. With that, you are able to rest, recharge, for the day ahead of you!
5. Hobbies and Recreational Activities
When your body has rested from all the hard work, you should not forget to shut out your thoughts about work to not let the stress back in. So during your free time or the weekends, find an activity that will make you happy. Plug in your earphones and listen to your favorite music, read your dearest book, or if you prefer to go out on an adventure, get out your camera and trusty backpack for a ride! The happiness that you get from doing what you love to do will help give you the strength to come back to work even harder.
